Mercedes recalls 1,118 cars in Russia due to technical problems
MOSCOW, Dec 24 (PRIME) -- Mercedes-Benz Rus, the official representative of Mercedes-Benz brand in Russia, has recalled 1,118 cars in the country due to possible technical flaws, the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology said on its website on Tuesday.
It said that 1,022 Mercedes-Benz GLEc (type 167) cars sold since 2018 until now will be recalled because fastening of decorative lining on the vertical partitions of the rear doors may not meet the requirements. The fastening should be checked and adjusted if necessary.
Also, 96 Mercedes-Benz S (type 217 and 222) cars sold in 2019 will be recalled.
“The reason for the recall of the vehicles is coding of software of the electronic call communication mode, or eCALL, which may not comply with the specifications,” the statement read.
